CEMARK supported research on the use of recycled materials in concrete production in Ukraine

The restoration of Ukraine requires not only resources, but also bold decisions, modern technologies, and partnerships. That is why CEMARK joined a study initiated by the Ukraine Support Team on the use of recycled materials in concrete production.

The research tested concrete mixtures in which part of the natural aggregate was replaced with recycled debris from buildings destroyed during the war. The results exceeded expectations and confirmed the real potential of this approach for rebuilding the country.

Key findings of the study:

• Up to 50% of natural aggregate can be replaced with recycled materials.

• The strength and plasticity of the concrete mix are 30% higher than predicted.

• The environmental impact is less waste, less burden on the environment, and more benefits for communities.

In fact, this is a material that not only meets standard solutions but also opens up new opportunities for the sustainable and effective restoration of Ukraine.
